At USP, your (personal) data are in safe hands

USP Marketing Consultancy BV (USP) is a market research agency based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. For almost 30 years, USP has been conducting market research to make its customers’ services and products fit even better with the right target groups. USP is a member of the Dutch market research association MOA and follows the rules in line with the GDPR on personal data. At USP, a distinction can be made in the processing of personal data of respondents (market research) and of customers and prospects (website and newsletters).

1. Market research

As a market research agency, USP attaches great importance to the correct and safe processing of your (personal) data. USP follows the GDPR and the Fair Data guidelines from the market research association MOA. We will never use the data we receive from our clients  for any purpose other than for the agreed research. In the invitation to participate in the research, we share the purpose and if desired the client. The client is responsible for the lawful processing of the data. The GDPR allows the personal data to be used for statistical purposes, even though the data has been collected for a different purpose. We may therefore use your data for market research even though you have not given explicit permission for it. Participating in our research surveys is entirely voluntary.

We do not collect more data than necessary for the purpose of the investigation and no longer in  identifiable form than necessary for the goal of the research. We never report individual results with identifiable data unless explicit consent has been given. USP uses temporary cookies when conducting online research. These cookies are only used as technical support to allow you to navigate directly to the right demand, if you have aborted the investigation early. Our employees are trained to act in accordance with the personal data protection guidelines and our ICT department ensures a secure network environment. In addition, USP has appointed a Data Protection Officer to ensure that USP and its sub-processors operate in line with the GDPR

2. Website and newsletters

USP processes your personal data for our own marketing purposes, such as newsletters, brochures and information about relevant products and services. We also use your telephone number to reach you to explain our services. USP processes your personal data by using our services and/or because you provide it to us yourself. We use marketing automation software and store your data in data centres within the EU. USP does not store your personal data for longer than is strictly necessary to realize the purposes for which your data is collected. USP will only provide your data to third parties if necessary for the implementation of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We take web hosting and processing software from Euroart. Euroart processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata on the use of the services. These are not personal data. Euroart has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent loss and unauthorized use of your personal data.

Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data on website visitors under the age of 16. Unless they have permission from parents or guardians. However, we cannot verify that a visitor is over 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in their children’s online activities in order to prevent data about children being collected without parental consent. If you think that we have collected personal information about a minor without that consent, please contact us via data [email protected], we will delete this information.

View, modify, or delete data

You have the right to view, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to revoke your possible consent for the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by USP and you have the right to data transferability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data that we have about you in a computer file to you or another organisation you have mentioned. You may send a request for access, correction, deletion, data revocation of your personal data or request to withdraw your consent or object to the processing of your personal data to [email protected]. To be sure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your ID with the request. We will respond as soon as possible, but within four weeks, at your request.

Contact us or lodge a complaint

USP Marketing Consultancy takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification. If you have the impression that your data is not secure or there are indications of abuse, please contact us via data [email protected]. We trust that we will able to support you to ensure your data is in safe hands, but in case you are under the impression that USP does not follow the required regulations regarding your personal data, you can lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands.
